Scarier than Rutger Hauer.
A few days ago, news broke that Robin Wright had signed on for Denis Villeneuve’s sequel to Ridley Scott’s BLADE RUNNER. Now, resident tough guy Dave Bautista will also dive in to what’s slowly becoming harder to ignore.
Bautista got his start in WWE, and dabbled in direct-to-dvd film, eventually getting some meatier roles in with THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS, and RIDDICK. He’s best known in the cinematic world for Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, playing Drax, an alien with a personal vendetta against Ronan and Thanos.
A lot can be attested to the writing, but Drax was really funny! Most surprising was the comedic timing shown by the actor. GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY: VOLUME 2 is currently filming and will be released in 2017, while BLADE RUNNER 2 will be seen a year later.
It’s tough to speculate on how professional wrestlers will fare once their out of the tights and the squared circle, but Bautista is a talented guy, and he appears to be following in Dwayne Johnson’s footsteps of a successful career.
