Maybe it's his role in TWILIGHT.
Having ridden his TWILIGHT fame to near unprecedented (and frankly, scary) heights, Robert Pattinson reveals a new side in the first look at David Cronenberg's trippy thriller, COSMOPOLIS. Cronenberg's made his name through edgy, breaking-the-mold type of films; a genre it seems he's returned to after the misstep that was A DANGEROUS METHOD.
Albeit briefly, Pattinson seems to really bring it here--a shocking feeling probably shared by everyone save for teenaged girls. The plot follows a twenty-something billionaire (Pattinson), fearing he's going to be murdered, as he travels through the streets of Manhattan in a limo. Obviously a lot more going on, but color me intrigued. COSMOPOLIS will presumably be unveiled at Cannes in May, but a distribution date has yet to be confirmed. The teaser and new poster are below the break. The video's chock full of blood and boobs and sex, so you might want to wait and watch it in the confines of your home.
