DEADPOOL is an unquestionable success, both critically and financially. Largely beloved by both critics and fanboys, a sequel has already been greenlit, but now we have official word that Ryan Reynolds–who portrayed Wade Wilson/Deadpool–will return as well.
And expect him to earn a hefty raise this time around. It’s reported that he made only 2 million; a large sum for most, but paltry considering DEADPOOL has racked in 750 million and counting. It’s also the highest grossing R-rated film in history, supplanting THE MATRIX RELOADED in the process.
The stinger at the end of DEADPOOL hinted that X-Force and Cable would be making appearances, but as long as Fox keeps this particular brand of humor and action pieces, audiences will no doubt be lining up to see what’s in store. No date as of yet of when to expect the sequel in cinemas, but you’ll hear about it when we do.
